It is no longer only in science fiction movies or novels that the doors would open recognizing the person. Facial recognition cameras are doing this job for some time now. Even cameras that can identify different items are also available. The tech-savvy inventors are using this technology for their benefit smartly.

The futuristic cameras which can alert the store workers when a known shoplifter enters the premises or the cameras which recognize individuals and guide them with the deals of their interests are not dreams anymore. Such cameras have already been launched. Imagine stepping into a store and receiving a list of all the discount codes 2018 on your favorite items.

An Amazing App

A new patent application has used the same idea as inspiration for the futuristic cameras that will keep a record of the customers. These cameras will recognize a shopper, keep track of the moves of each shopper in the store, note the products shoppers look at or pick up, and offer them coupons for the items they are looking for.

Well, it’s kind of cool but in a creepy way isn’t it? It gives us a feeling of being watched all the time which we already are anyway. Forget it! Coming back to this creepily cool technology, NCR entitled the application which describes this idea as, ‘promotion based on item interaction’.

The Real Reason Behind The Idea

The whole purpose behind this ingenious app is to solve the problem we face with the personalized coupon; they are offered after we have bought. For now, there is nothing similar to this app. The online promo codes or otherwise tickets cannot be provided to the customers based on their interaction with the items in the store. There is no way to do it because there is no way to monitor their communication.

The Working

Sensors and cameras would be located throughout the store to monitor buyers’ location and track the time they are spending at every department. It will also identify the items the buyer has shown interest in by looking at or picking them up.

Based on all this information, the system will make
recommendations to the purchasers about the discounts and promotions through a mobile device. The futuristic cameras would use facial recognition and access the history of buyers’ purchases on arrival. Then, it would compare the products you are interested in the database of images for the products within the store.

Let’s put it in easy words. Imagine you walk into a store and move towards the chocolate section. There, you picked up milk chocolate flip it in hand, and replace it back. The system would send promo codes on the milk chocolate to your phone to prompt you to buy the item. Or it may send you a coupon for a competitive brand to force conversion. If you have put that item in the shopping cart already, it will send you discount codes for something to go with it for instance if you have placed cereal in the cart you may get discounts for milk.

Continuous Nagging

It will keep sending you the codes, in other words, it will keep tempting you until you cave in. The first notification will be received when you are holding the product, if you put it back on the shelf the system will know it has failed to lure you and the second offer would be made. The second time the greater discount would be offered, or it may recommend another item similar to the first one.

The system would be designed to even tailor coupons as per the customers’ preferences. For instance, let’s say a customer has some food allergies or buys gluten-free products, it will recommend the products accordingly. It means it can also process the ingredients of the products. Whoa! That’s some serious science going on here man, and we are impressed.

It will be definitely convenient as it will finally give us the coupons we would want actually to use. The best part is these K&F concept discount codes could be used right away without having to buy first and then receiving a coupon for the next purchase.

Back To Reality

Ok! Time for a real question. How many of us check our phones to see the messages while we are holding something to buy in our hands? It’ll be annoying to the next level, even more, annoying than having a nosy salesperson at your tail. Let’s wait and watch how it turns out.
